Santa Cruz Celebrates its 1st Annual Nature and Cultural
Fair in Tubac
St. Ann’s Church in Tubac is partnering with Montessori
de Santa Cruz and the Arizona Watchable Wildlife Tourism
Association to host the first annual Santa Cruz Nature and
Cultural Exhibit and Fair on Friday, May 6th and Saturday,
May 7th at 2231 E. Frontage Road in Tubac. The goal of the
event is to educate children and adults about the area’s
wildlife and cultural heritage.
The two-day
event will feature activities for children and families
including nature and cultural
exhibits, guided river
walks, bird tours, games, wildlife and tour information,
live animal exhibits and food. On Saturday, May 7th, St.
Ann’s Church will host a family
carnival.
A nature
festival is one of the best ways to connect people to the
environment,” says Kazz Workizer, president
of the Arizona Watchable Wilflife Tourism Association. “The
festival provides many ways to learn about the birds and
animals around us in a fun and exciting way. Children and
adults are sure to have a “Wow!” moment as they
experience hands on activities, look through binoculars,
learn about the importance of the river ecosystem and have
some plain old-fashioned fun.”
The exhibit and fair will be open to the public, with a
suggested donation of $3 that includes admission and parking.
The event is sponsored by Kazzam Nature Gifts, Montessori
de Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools,
and Arizona Department of Game and Fish. Exhibit booths and
sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information,
contact Daniel Manriquez of Montessori de Santa Cruz at 520-398-0536.
